How to establish and pay for your taxi fare in Wantagh NY 11793

In previous years the only way to pay for and establish a cab fare was through a meter and with cash for what the fare was, and hopefully a 20% tip to your cab driver upon proper service. In the advent of modern technology with taxis, one such improvement was how a taxi fare was calculated and how a taxi fare was paid for.

In 2018, we feel the traditional (and very expensive) taxi meter is almost obsolete (especially in the Long Island market, in which we operate). Wantagh Taxi and Airport Service has etablished a two-fold system of booking and paying for your taxi ride that has intergrated modern communication technology and payment technology.

When you call your local taxi service, you will be asked your pickup location and your destination. We will enter it into a map which determines distance, which youre point to point taxi fare on Long Island in Nassau County and Suffolk County is calculated at just $3 a mile with a minimum taxi fare of $10 for a local ride of 3 miles or less. Once the ride is more than 3 miles, we base your taxi fare on it being $3 a mile as long as it stays in Nassau County or Suffolk County.

The tricky part of calculating your taxi fare is when you need to go into or through the five borooughs of New York City and traffic must be accounted for in the bill. The minimum taxi fare from Wantagh to any part of Queens (Rosedale, Laurelton, Queens Village, Cambria Heights, Floral Park, Bellrose, Little Neck or Glen Oaks) starts at just $65. that is just a tad higher than $3 a mile and when you calculate the driver in traffic, it will make perfect sense. The minimum taxi fare from Wantagh to Brooklyn is $95, the minimum taxi fare from Wantagh to Manhattan, Wantagh to te Bronx and Wantagh to Staten Island is all $145. This is because of the time it takes for a driver to pick you up on Long Island and drive you in to the five boroughs of New York City, which can be a task navigating through traffic at times.

Traditionally taxi fares were only payable in cash. For the most part, especially for a local taxi ride, that still is true. The best way to establish the payment method for your taxi ride is to determine it at the time of booking. Wantagh Taxi and Airport Service accepts cash as well as all major credit cards which must be ran and signed prior to the start of service. Payment method determines your driver. In order get the top drivers, cash is the preferred payment method, and it is due at the start of the service.

Our reasoning for collecting cash at the start of the service is fairly simple, and that is that once the service is done, without a credit card it is significantly harder to prevent being held up for being on time for the following customer to get their ride within a timely manner. We make sure to be available for all clients no matter how large or small the service is that you order. This can be accomplished by an up front fare quote and collection of cash by your driver

Multiple vehicle taxi services- every now and again, when your group of passengers exceeds 6 in an airport transfer with luggage or 7 passengers in a point to point taxi ride with no luggage, you will need multiple taxis. We can pro vide this for you, the one rule is that only one cab driver collects the full cash fare at the start of the service. This will prevent confustion and the process of playing telephone when you can otherwise be enjoying your event. You can even pay your roun trip taxi fare up front and you will know that your car service will be there for you at the end of your event ready to drive you back home.
